Cemetery trustee Alyce Walker is all smiles because a wonderful group of local veterans and other volunteers have been giving generously of their time, resources and good ideas to cleaning up, securing, and managing the African American Spring Hill Cemetery. It is now locked at dark and re-opened each morning. Fencing has been repaired and two back roads have been blocked off to prevent trucks from damaging the cemetery, as in the past. Trash has been removed. A parking area is designated with signage and other new signage has been put up as well. The entrance now features a flag pole and American flag. Many thanks to each of you for your good work. The Cemetery is looking better than ever. May the veterans and African Americans there all rest in peace!
